We try to keep parents up to date with both school events and their child’s progress during their time with us. Below are various ways we keep in touch with parents.
At the start of the academic year pupils receive a homework book. This is used by the pupils to record homework, items needed in school etc, but is also for parents to communicate with staff.
If you need to contact a member of staff, please call into the school office. Our office staff will be happy to make you an appointment. Alternatively you can make a note in your child’s homework book, telephone the school office on 0208 574 1726 or email office@ngjs.hounslow.sch.uk.
Our website can be found at www.ngjs.co.uk. A lot of information can be found here, including newsletters, trip letters, term dates and school policies.
For non-urgent information (reminders of school trips, up-coming events etc) we are able to text parents. This service will also be used for extraordinary events, i.e. unexpected school closures. The text message service sends a message to the mobile telephone number of the person named as No. 1 contact. Please ensure that we have your up to date details.
Newsletters are sent out regularly. A text message will be sent to tell parents when newsletters are issued. If you would like to receive your newsletter electronically, please email the school office on office@ngjs.hounslow.sch.uk to be added to our newsletter distribution list. If you think you may have missed a newsletter, these can all be found on our website.
There is an opportunity for parents to meet
teaching staff to discuss their child’s progress twice a
year, November and March. Details of these Parent Consultation
Evenings are sent out by letter. Reply
slips for appointments are returned to the class teacher. If
you wish to discuss your child’s progress at any other time, please
do not hesitate to contact us.
This is an informal opportunity once a term to see the ‘working school’, where children can explain learning in their exercise books, in artwork and through items on display.
